Bridging Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to Power Practice

1. Close Power Practice.

1. Right click on the Power Practice Live icon on the desktop.
2. Select Open File Location.

We will return to this window shortly, leave this folder open.

1. Open the Start Menu, typically found at the bottom left of the computer screen.
2. Find or search for Word.
3. Right click on the application.
4. Choose Open File Location.

1. Find Word (or Excel) in the new window and right click the application.
2. Choose Open File Location once again.

1. In the new window, select the address path located at the top.
2. Right click and Copy the selection.

1. Return to the Powerptx folder we navigated to earlier.
2. Locate the Ppsetup file and open it.

1. Tick the Word Processor box.
2. Right click and Paste the address link copied earlier.
3. Select Browse.

1. Scroll down until you find WINWORD; it is an “exe” type file near the bottom.
2. Select Open with the WINWORD application highlighted.

Repeating some of the steps above, we will now link Excel

1. Tick the Spreadsheet box.
2. Right click and Paste the address link copied earlier.
3. Select Browse.

1. Scroll down until you find EXCEL.
2. Select Open with the EXCEL application highlighted.

1. Verify that the linked applications are pointed in the right direction; see the image on the left.
2. Select Ok to dismiss this window and save your changes.
3. Close all the file folders opened thus far.

Finally, linking Outlook will be the easiest of the three applications.

1. Open the start menu, typically found at the bottom left of the computer screen.
2. Type Default Apps.
3. Select the option listed as Default Apps.

1. Select the Email application listed.
2. Choose Outlook in the drop-down.
